► Include your kids in meal preparation. Children are more likely to eat food that they have prepared themselves.
► Don't use food as a reward. Children will have a greater desire for those reward sweets and a lower appeal for the healthy stuff.
► Don't force your kids to eat everything on the plate. Children get easily bored of the same taste. Mix up the flavor and colors.
► Talk to your kids about the benefits of eating well and looking after their body. Health is generally not a priority for children so focus on other issues that are important to them.
► Take a look at what the whole family are eating. Children rarely have bad eating habits on their own.
► Make sure your kids eat breakfast on a daily basis. It is the most important meal of the day for children.
